Salone del Mobile Milano, 2018

In 2018, our team attended Salone del Mobile Milano, one of the most prestigious international platforms where innovation, creativity, and craftsmanship converge. That year, the fair stood out with its emphasis on sustainability and material authenticity, bringing forward a new sensitivity in design. Natural textures such as raw wood, stone, and handwoven textiles were combined with refined finishes, offering a sense of warmth and timelessness. This direction deeply resonated with us, as it reflected our own vision of creating interiors that are both contemporary and rooted in human experience.

Another highlight of 2018 was the integration of smart technologies into everyday furniture and living solutions. From hidden mechanisms in storage units to adaptive lighting systems and modular seating arrangements, the fair illustrated how technology could enhance comfort without overshadowing aesthetics. We were particularly inspired by the innovative kitchen systems of Boffi and Scavolini, where minimal design met advanced functionality, and by Molteni&C and Cassina, who redefined elegance with bold, architectural furniture pieces. These encounters strengthened our approach to combining flexibility, innovation, and elegance in our own projects.

The fair also revealed a stronger focus on well-being and lifestyle-driven interiors, with spaces designed to adapt to the rhythms of modern life—inviting relaxation, social interaction, and balance. From luxurious lounge settings by Poliform to playful, colorful experiments by Kartell, each brand contributed to a collective dialogue on how living environments should evolve. Walking through the exhibitions, we were reminded that great design is not only about form and function, but also about creating emotional connections and lasting value for the people who inhabit these spaces.

For us, the 2018 edition of Salone del Mobile was more than a showcase of design—it was a learning journey. The inspirations we gathered in Milan became embedded in our practice, encouraging us to refine our material choices, embrace technological innovation more boldly, and design interiors that respond intelligently to both global trends and local needs.
